Venue: Kaiserin-Friedrich-Haus in Berlin and online
Dear colleagues,
We cordially invite you to the 16th prophylaxis seminar of the Kompetenznetz Schlaganfall.
Over many years, our training series has become an integral part of the exchange on stroke prevention. We would now like to broaden our focus to include neurovascular diseases as well as neurodegenerative diseases such as dementia and Parkinson’s disease and their prevention.
This new focus takes into account the link between vascular diseases of the brain and neurodegenerative processes. Many risk factors that can lead to a stroke – such as high blood pressure, diabetes and an unhealthy lifestyle – also play a decisive role in the development of dementia and Parkinson’s disease. A better understanding of the common mechanisms will open up new ways of prevention and treatment.
This year’s program includes the latest developments in stroke and Parkinson’s prophylaxis. Practical experience with the new antibody therapies for Alzheimer’s disease will also be discussed. Another lecture will be devoted to the possibilities offered by transcranial neuromodulation in neuropsychiatric and internal diseases. We will also address very specific questions relating to day-to-day care: How does effective prevention succeed in everyday life?
As in the previous year, we are offering the presentations in a hybrid format so that you can participate flexibly. For all those who are in Berlin, the afternoon workshops offer the opportunity to delve deeper into selected topics. The focus here will be on the early detection of Parkinson’s using case studies as well as practical questions on antithrombotic therapy for atrial fibrillation and stroke.
We are very much looking forward to exciting insights, lively discussions and personal exchanges – in Berlin or at the screens.
The event was certified by the Berlin Medical Association with 7 continuing education points (lectures and workshops) and 4 points (lectures only).
We would be delighted if you would also make your colleagues aware of our seminar.
