An emergency
A stroke is an emergency, i.e. action must be taken immediately, without hesitation or waiting. In many cases, the consequences can be minimized by acting quickly. Every minute counts. If you or someone around you has symptoms of a stroke, call 112, the emergency services or the fire department. It takes patients by the quickest route to the emergency department of a suitable hospital.
Even if the symptoms disappear quickly, they are an important warning signal and should be treated immediately. Transient circulatory disorders are often the precursor to a stroke.
